AI / ML engineer
Why you are super important to us:
AI isn’t just a feature; it’s the core of our product. You’ll help develop compliance agents that can truly reason, answering legal questions, drafting contracts, filling registers, and conducting risk assessments. You will make many customers happy by saving them a huge amount of time.
Who we are?
We’re Awesome Compliance Technology (ACT), the world’s first AI-powered hybrid legal & compliance firm. Our SaaS platform (plus human experts) makes the messy stuff like reviewing contracts, GDPR, ISO27001, EU AI Act compliance actually manageable. Our customers are scale-ups and tech companies that want to innovate fast and stay compliant, without drowning in paperwork.
What you’ll do
Build and improve agent pipelines (using Pydantic-AI / LangChain / custom frameworks).
Work on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with vector DBs.
Tackle real-world AI challenges: hallucinations, bias, explainability, privacy.
Collaborate with compliance experts to turn rules and regulations into AI-usable knowledge graphs & tasks.
Prototype fast, test with users, and scale what works.
What we’re looking for
Strong in Python + ML/AI frameworks.
You’ve shipped something with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, local models, doesn’t matter, you’ve been in the trenches).
Comfortable with data pipelines, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation.
You’re pragmatic: you understand when to use APIs and when to create something custom.
If you're interested in legal and compliance issues, you don’t have to be a lawyer, but you care about automating complex legal decision-making.
Bonus points if:
You’ve worked with agentic systems and vector databases.
You’ve explored explainability and evaluation tools.
You’ve dealt with data privacy constraints in ML before
What we offer
Early team role → real ownership, not a ticket factory.
Competitive salary + equity (we’re serious about sharing upside).
A culture of shipping, learning, and having each other’s back.
Working hybrid, with several days at the office in The Netherlands.
The chance to say: “I made compliance awesome.”
